OTTAWA – Today, M.P. for Welland, Malcolm Allen stood up in the House of Commons on behalf of ex-employees of Vertis Communications in Stevensville, Ontario.

“When 100 people lost their job at Vertis Communications in Stevensville, they didn’t think they would be left fighting to get $2.7 million in severance packages and termination pay for which they deserve and this company owes them.

Concerns are growing over the ever expanding beef recall.

The XL Foods Lakeside plant has been decertified from exporting
meat to the US and is cutting shifts.

Yet all we get from this Minister are contradictory and unclear statements.

Their regulation changes and funding cuts are undermining faith in the system and may have caused the delays in this recall.
